Whether you’re in the middle of an all-nighter or want to make sure you’re awake at 3am, here are three tricks that will help you get the most out of your laptop at 3am.
Use an external mouse
If you're having trouble with your laptop's touchpad, an external mouse might be a good option. It will give you more precision and help prevent any repetitive strain injuries from computer use. Plus, it's cheaper than upgrading your laptop!
1) Put a soft cloth between your body and the external mouse. This will help prevent any discomfort or pain that may come from resting your arm on an uncomfortable surface for long periods of time. 2) Don't forget to change position occasionally: Give your arms and hands a break by switching which hand is holding the mouse every 30 minutes or so.
Adjust your screen brightness
When it's late, your laptop screen may be too bright. Adjust your screen brightness so you can read easily. Here's how:
* Press F1 or Fn+F1 (depending on the type of laptop you have). * Enter brightness and then press Enter. * Drag the slider until your screen is comfortable for reading. * Press Enter again and then press F10 or Fn+F10 (depending on the type of laptop you have) to save and exit out. Put your computer in sleep mode when not using it: In order to prolong the life of your battery and make sure you're getting a full night's sleep, put your computer in sleep mode when not using it.
Take breaks
The best way to get the most out of your laptop is by taking breaks. This will allow you time for your eyes and mind to rest, as well as giving you time for fresh input. Another trick is to use one eye at a time: shut the other eye then use the open eye with your laptop. Close that eye and switch; this helps distribute fatigue across both eyes. Lean back in your chair: Allow yourself to lean back so that you are resting against the chair's backrest and not just sitting up straight in front of it.
